Horley & District

About Us

Horley & District u3a was founded in 1995 and is one of over 1,000 u3as up and down the country. It is a registered charity 1057226 and is entirely run and funded by its own members. We all help each other learn and everyone gives their time on a voluntary basis.

The object of the u3a movement is to provide people who are retired or semi-retired with opportunities to go on learning, just for the pleasure of it. There are no formal courses or qualifications, all our learning is done in a relaxed atmosphere and we have many social activities as well. All u3as are members of the Third Age Trust, an umbrella organisation that provides things such as insurance and licences for all u3as, as well as organising special learning events.

Network

Horley u3a is also a member of the Surrey u3a Network, a group of local u3as who get together to provide mutual support and organise special Study Days, which are listed on the Events page.
